Don’t let me see you again, or don’t blame me for what happens next.” Candace looked at me with even more mockery and disdain, laughing sarcastically. As for Justin, he continuously looked at me with disgust, impatiently telling Brad and Candace, “Mom, Dad, why are you wasting time with her? Let’s stop messing around here and go find Ryan’s wife and daughter!” Watching them leave, seeing my daughter’s pitiful, tear-streaked face, my heart felt heavy. I gritted my teeth, muttering to myself, “I didn’t want to bother you, but you just had to walk straight into the firing line.” “Since you’re so intent on seeking your own demise, I’ll grant you your wish!” I pulled out my phone and called Ryan. “Honey, let’s go to Justin’s 18th birthday celebration tomorrow!”
